It is my pleasure to introduce to you the newest restaurant in Toronto. Located in the King West village on the corner of King & Portland, Lou Dawg’s Southern Sandwiches specializes in authentic southern culture: Slowww smoked BBQ and a whole lotta Blues!
Our passion is to introduce Toronto to real southern culture and we aim to be a destination dining establishment for our food, our atmosphere, friendly service and our live music. In preparation for this venture, Co-Owner & Executive Chef Sean Smith personally visited roughly 350 BBQ joints in 13 states across the southern US during a research trip in 2007. Serving quick and healthy options for lunch (affordably priced from $6-$9 for an entrée) we are also a licensed establishment providing live blues acts weekly and our kitchen is open until 4am to serve the after-bar clientele. All of our food is smoked fresh on-site and our slow smoked, dry rub chicken wings have been called ‘the best wings in Toronto’. With the help of the Toronto Blues Society, we have been able to book some of the finest blues musicians this city has to offer… we are pleased to offer live music on Thursday (6-9pm), Friday & Saturday (10pm-1am) and an Open Mic Blues Jam on Mondays (6-9pm). Further, we have partnered with our friends at Sleemans and XM Radio to launch an outdoor blues festival in Toronto currently being planned for the summer of 2010.
